OWNER AND PERSONAL TRAINER
Anthony is one of the owners of Anchor Athletics and Strength along with his wife, Valerie. Anthony played 13 years of competitive hockey, including 2 years at the college level. More recently, he has been immersed in the world of equipped powerlifting for the past 8 years. Along with being a top competitor in his field, he holds an all-time world record for squat, and owns Trigger Warning Conjugate, an online personal training and educational platform for powerlifting. Anthony is especially adept at helping people reach their strength goals and working around existing injuries.
OWNER AND PERSONAL TRAINER
Valerie is co-owner of Anchor Athletics and Strength. She has been involved with athletics her whole life, and has spent the last 7 years as a competitor in powerlifting. She boasts 3 top-ten all-time squats, pro totals in 4 different weight classes, and has competed at 4 World Power Organization world championships. She has since stepped away from her powerlifting career to focus on health, weight loss and athletic goals. Valerie loves to help others find comfort and confidence within their own body and capability.
Connor is a personal trainer and is developing Iron Helix, a non-profit fitness concept to serve the recovery and mental health communities. After working as a corporate attorney for nine years in Boston, Connor found his true calling in helping people better themselves. After being an All New England collegiate rugby player, competing in numerous Spartan and Tough Mudder obstacle races, running the Boston Marathon, working as a hiking trail guide in Glacier National Park and the White Mointains, and completing the 48 New Hampshire 4,000 ft. Mountains, Connor is now focused on strength and conditioning training that incorporates all of his previous athletic and fitness experiences, developing programming for his clients that build strength and muscle for life in an effort to improve overall health, fitness, and aesthetics.
Ben is a retired paratrooper who was told he’d never lift heavy again after separating his clavicle, ruining his back, and destroying his knees all over Fort Bragg and foreign deserts. He said “ah nuts” to those Nancy Naysayers and started lifting heavy anyhow. And then he found out that it regulated his mood, too. (Yeah buddy!)
He has since turned his time as a leader in the Army, wrangling his small personal army of children, and lifting heavy things into a passion for helping other people come back from injuries, reshape their bodies, or step confidently into the world of strength sports. Plus, Ben is wicked cool. And doesn’t know where his shoes are.
